24-Hour Non-Medical Home Care Assistance in Chicago and the North Shore
Around-the-clock assistance
When Mom or Dad cannot safely be alone, the schedule must match the real need.
Twenty-four-hour home care generally means coordinated caregiver coverage across the day and night. It may involve multiple caregivers working scheduled shifts. It is not always the same as a true live-in arrangement, which includes defined sleep and off-duty periods.
Families may explore continuous assistance when there is
- Unsafe wandering or significant nighttime confusion
- Repeated falls or frequent mobility assistance
- Regular help needed with toileting or personal care
- A spouse or family caregiver who can no longer remain awake
- A difficult transition home after hospitalization
- A need for supervision throughout covered hours
What Mafolux needs to understand
Describe how often the person wakes, whether the caregiver must remain awake, what assistance is required, the home environment, equipment being used, and whether any task requires more than one person. Final schedules depend on assessment, non-medical scope, employment requirements, and caregiver availability.
How can care be paid for?
Mafolux Healthcare Services is Medicaid enrolled, accepts private pay, and works with clients using applicable long-term care insurance benefits or reimbursement. Medicaid services require applicable eligibility and authorization. Long-term care insurance coverage and reimbursement depend on the individual policy, benefit approval, documentation, and insurer.
Talk with Mafolux about the next step.
Service availability depends on the person’s needs, location, schedule, authorization when applicable, and current caregiver availability.
